Lauren I. Mechaly, an associate attorney, focuses on elder law, special education advocacy, and special needs planning.
She received a J.D. from Albany Law School and a B.A. from Boston University. She also took graduate courses in social work at Fordham University.
Lauren is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the New York County Lawyer’s Association.
While studying for her law degree, Lauren interned at Albany’s Civil Rights and Disabilities Law Clinic, through which she represented clients with disabilities in administrative hearings; advocated for appropriate educational services for youths with autism; and worked with a coalition of special education attorneys addressing due process violations at the Office of State Review.
